Proper aftercare helps your tattoo heal correctly and reduces the risk of infection. Not following these instructions may affect the healing, clarity and colour saturation of your tattoo.

First 24 Hours

  • Leave the wrap on for the time advised (usually 1-2 hours).
  • Wash your hands, then gently remove the wrap.
  • Clean the tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap. Avoid fragranced products, as these may cause irritation.
  • Gently pat the area dry with a clean towel – Do not rub!

Days 1–14

  • Apply a thin layer of tattoo aftercare balm or antiseptic cream 1–2 times daily for the first 1-2 days.
  • Once the skin begins to flake, switch to a light, fragrance-free moisturiser. Flaking is completely normal during this time!
  • Although tempting, do not scratch, pick, rub or peel your tattoo.

Please Avoid:

  • Swimming or going to the beach for at least 2 weeks.
  • Excessive touching of your tattoo or lying on the area.
  • Direct sunlight and tight clothing over the tattoo that may rub.
  • Heavy sweating or intense workouts.

If at any time during the healing process you notice unusual redness, heat, swelling or discharge, please seek medical advice.

After your tattoo is healed

  • Apply 30+ SPF sunscreen when exposed to the sun.
  • Keep the skin moisturised to maintain colour and clarity.
  • Avoid excessive exfoliation, including strong AHA or retinol products, as these may accelerate fading.
